It’s been a while…

So.

It has been quite a while since I updated this blog. I have most certainly not abandoned it but it has been a busy 8 weeks.

I finally performed my 45th independent birth required for my registration as a midwife in Australia, but the joy from that achievement has been short lived,Β as the lack of opportunities for graduates in the job market has become apparent. It’s hard to see three years of blood, sweat and tears go to waste. Job offers will be announced in the coming days and I have a gut feeling that I won’t be getting one of them.

So what to do?

Luckily in just three short weeks I will be off to South Africa for a six week backpacking adventure, so this should be pretty effective at cheering myself up, but it won’t last forever.

I have started to look into Visas and I am thinking pretty seriously about applying to work as an au pair in France or Sweden. Thanks to the Australian Working Holiday Visas, it isn’t an impossible goal.

I suppose this is just a long winded way of saying that I am sorry for not posting (or reading), I will be on the road (plane) again soon and I will be sharing many more adventures with you very soon.

Oh and here is a picture of me with Hodor from Game of Thrones. Just because.

  1. Very cool picture with Hodor! Best of luck with the job situation and any adventures in the future. What you’ve learned traveling will help in the years ahead. Sometimes things don’t go according to plan, but those experiences can be the most meaningful and memorable. Hodor!

  2. Congrats on your 45th birth – wow! I did doula training last year and have only attended one birth so far. When I get home from my current trip I would like to finish the requirements to be certified. Kudos to you! The right job will come πŸ™‚
