After spending a while checking out the incredible design features of Point Yamu by COMO, it was time to settle into my Bay View Pool Suite and suss out all that it had to offer.

It is evident when moving throughout the suite and throughout the entire hotel, that the inspiration for the interior design was incredibly clear. Turquoise and white accents flow throughout the rooms, without it ever looking overly matchy-matchy. The room felt fun, but not cheap. Bright, but not ostentatious. Similar patterns were repeated on the tiles, pillows and even folders, which was a subtle way of bringing everything together into one cohesive design.

One of the especially cute features, was this alternative to the usual cardboard ‘do not disturb’ sign. It is small but interesting touches like this, that set chain and boutique hotels apart.

The suite itself is incredibly light and airy. Floor to ceiling glass doors really do capture the sun and allow maximum light to flow through the room.

The linens were of good quality, the beds large and very comfortable and best of all, when you opened up the doors, you were met with a truly phenomenal view of Phang Nga Bay.

Even with heavy cloud cover and some serious fog, it is still totally gorgeous.

Also, even without the benefit of the beautiful views, how amaze is this little private pool? Perfect size, perfect location and perfect water temperature. What more could you want?

Now if you thought that the suite was nice, the pool was lovely and the views pretty great, just wait a second, cause the best feature of Point Yamu is still yet to come!

I have stayed in some pretty phenomenal hotels and resorts this year (Maalifushi and Soneva Kiri – I am looking at you!) but there is one area in which Point Yamu tops them all.

The bathroom!

Look. At. That. Bathtub.

Everything, from the perfectly imperfect tiles, to the ladder towel racks, to the enormous circular tub comes together perfectly. The bauble lights create a soft, warm lighting and subtly illuminates the room. Not only that, but it is just about the most flattering artificial light I have ever seen!

I managed to wait all of about five minutes before the urge to fill the bathtub with bubbles completely overcame me. The tub was just calling for a ridiculous amount of suds and bubbles!

It was pretty much the best decision ever, and it was hands down one of the most enjoyable baths I have ever had. I want one of these in my future home (y’know, the one I will never, ever be able to afford)!

After I had gotten the last of the bubbles out of my hair, it was time to order room service (Stay tuned for Ellen Eats: Thailand) and snuggle into my big fluffy bed for a good nights sleep.
