Merry Christmas!

Wherever you are in the world, I hope your Christmas is absolutely wonderful. I am spending my Christmas working back to back night shifts, and though that might sound horrible, in fact, it’s actually not a terrible way to celebrate – I would love to deliver a Christmas baby!

2016 has been a good year in travel for me, but 2017 is looking like it will be even better!

So, to celebrate closing the door on 2016, I am going to share 25 of my absolute favourite travel pictures from this year. Enjoy, and please link me to your own fave travel pics from 2016 – I would love to see them!

1. Adelaide River, Northern Territory

Nothing like a big ass saltie to make you never want to go swimming again!

2. Miniloc Island, Philippines

This sunrise was definitely worth the 5am wake up!

3. El Nido, Philippines

I love how this little Nemo is just peeking out to see what is going on!

4. Small Lagoon, El Nido, Philippines

Hot tip: Visit this lagoon as soon as the sun rises to have it all to yourself.

5. Puerto Princesa Underground River, Philippines

This underground river is amazing, but getting in can take hours of waiting. Bring snacks.

6. Maalifushi by COMO, Maldives

If you dream of the Maldives, this is the kinda place you want to be staying!

7. Maalifushi by COMO, Maldives

What a bloody ripper of a sunset

8. Thaa Atoll, Maldives

Hanging with Mister Turtle

9. Reethi Beach Resort, Maldives

Monsoon Status: Imminent

10. Atauro Island, Timor-Leste

Jungle huts on the beach with not a single other traveller in sight, not bad, not bad at all!

11. Atauro Island, Timor-Leste

How cute is this Timorese bubba? <3

12. Darwin, Northern Territory

Darwin may be stupidly humid in the wet season, but by god do the storms look amazing as they roll in.

13. Edith Falls, Northern Territory

Located near Katherine, these falls are a stunning part of Nitmiluk National Park.

14. Bitter Springs, Northern Territory

A few days after this picture was taken a 2 metre saltie was spotted in these springs 😐

15. Berry Springs, Northern Territory

Another fave for crocs, it is only safe to swim here in the dry season.

16. Tanah Lot Temple, Indonesia

Maybe a Bintang would have been more appropriate?

17. East Bali, Indonesia

These shamrock green rice fields might not be as big as the ones in Ubud, but that just makes me like them all the more.

18. Fushimi Inari, Japan

5000 Torii Gates can’t be wrong…

19. Soneva Kiri, Koh Kood, Thailand

The epitome of luxury

20. Tokyo, Japan

21. Tokyo, Japan

Do hedgehogs get much cuter than this?

22. Hiroshima, Japan

The only way to get a decent shot of this water temple was to cut out the left side where constructions were underway!

23. Okunoshima, Japan

If you are a bunny lover, add Okunoshima to your bucket list.

24. Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Japan

Another one for the bucket list. Japan is the gift that just keeps on giving.

25. Kyoto, Japan

Lastly, another Japanese gem.

Underwater pictures captured with a Nikon Coolpix S31, all other pictures captured with an Olympus OM-D E-M1 with M.Zuiko 12-40mm f2.8 lens.
