I know I have said it before, but I am going to say it again now, and most definitely again in the future.
I am head over heels in love with Greenland!
I just visited this incredible country for the second time, and found that I loved it even more than I had the first time around – something I thought would be impossible.
Greenland is one of very few places left in the world that is still mostly untouched by modern travellers – but don’t expect it to stay that way. With tourism in previously non-touristy countries like Iceland and the Faroe Islands increasing massively each year, it won’t be long before intrepid travellers start looking for new lands to visit and explore.
A huge part of me wants to wrap the entire country up and keep it all to myself, but the bigger part of me just cannot stop talking about how incredible this often overlooked country really is. I have found myself becoming incredibly passionate about Greenland – more so than any other country I have ever visited – and have already started planning my third (and fourth) trips to this icy wonderland.
If I haven’t managed to convince you with words that you need to put Greenland on your bucket list, here are 25 pictures that I think will do it instead. Happy wandering!

No, as it was night and there was a cloud layer below there were no views this time. Will be over Greenland again during daylight a week from today, hope for clear skies then (and a window seat 😉)

I was watching a tv programme about Greenland just yesterday and I recognised a few places from your blog. It’s starting to find its way onto my imaginary list of places to visit, although it’s neither the cheapest nor most straightforward country to get to from my side of the world.
Dude, do not let that stop you! It isn’t exactly easy (or cheap) to get to from Australia either! But believe me, it is SO worth it.

I am sold as always. You write evocatively enough. Plus those photographs leave their brand. I am curious about the igloos though. Have you stayed in one of them? I have always wondered about it – whether they are worth the fantastic price they are pegged at.
I have actually! Hotels in Greenland are all quiet expensive, and honestly, staying in one of those igloos is only a fraction more expensive than a standard hotel room – so they are definitely worth the price tag!
Thank you. I shall keep those igloos in mind when I am thinking of booking a trip. Sometimes it is well worth the effort to go the extra hog. I mean I will not be going to Greenland everyday 😉
